Coastal Wildscapes 2018 Photography Contest
Coastal Wildscapes invited photographers throughout Coastal Georgia to participate in a photography contest that will lead up to the 9th Annual Open the Garden Gate Symposium.
The mission of Coastal Wildscapes is to actively preserve and restore the highly significantbiodiversity of Southeastern coastal ecosystems by protecting existing native habitats, rebuilding the connectivity of impaired habitats and minimizing the future fragmentation of the coastal landscape through education outreach, conservation initiatives, and grassroots activities. This year, activities will focus will be “Beaches & Barrier Islands”.
This digital contest would be centered on photographs that emphasize the 2018 theme by showcasing the importance of natural habitats along our coast. Any photographs that pertain to sand, surf, and life in coastal area will be accepted. Deadline for submission is December 1, 2017. Participants can submit up to 5 entries. Send digital images by email to email@example.com. Please name image file with photographer name and provide file info/metadata (photographer name, photo location, and any other relevant information) for each submitted image.
Winner will receive 1-year free "Individual "membership to Coastal Wildscapes, the winning photo printed on metal and Admission to Annual Symposium.
The winner of the contest will be announced prior to the symposium on January 20th, 2018 in Richmond Hill, GA.
In addition to the digital contest, participants submitting entries will be invited to exhibit their entries at McIntosh Art Association Old Jail Art Center in Darien, GA during the month of April 2018. Photographs framed or mounted on canvas, metal, glass, etc. will be allowed. Details for exhibiting will be sent at a later date.
All entrants are asked to provide permission for Coastal Wildscapes to use the images with full credit in future publications or materials to promote coastal habitat conservation.
