These are some of Duke's favorite images:
I love the "natural world" thing - wildlife, vistas, places that offer solitude and solace.
In 2008, was fishing with a friend in Alaska who walked around all week in heavy waders and full fly fishing kit with a heavy camera hung from his neck. I asked him why and he showed me his photos. When we got home, I bought a camera. That was the beginning... I've yet to land on a specialty, that is to say, something I can shoot well consistently. Again, it's the natural world thing: wildlife, vistas, places that offer solitude and solace. Once in a while street photography can be fun. Mostly, it's about learning. A good friend and I set up a studio last year so we could learn more about light and flash. I've benefited not only by his friendship and what he has taught me about light, I've also found I can take those lessons and apply them outside where I like to spend my time.
