These are some of Gayle's favorite images:
Gayle's passion is nature and architectural photography.
Gayle "Dee" Bowman took an interest in photography in 2008 after taking a short, yet detailed four-hour photography course. She sold her first print, "God's Rose," the following year for a mere $25.00.
Gayle's first professional competition was the International Year of the Potato World Photography Contest, which she entered in 2008. In 2009, her photograph, "Close and Closer" was shown at the Left Bank Art Gallery, and featured in the Tabby & Tillansia Cassina Garden Club Walk exhibit in St. Simons Island, Georgia. The following year, two of her photographs were also featured at both locations.
Since 2009, Gayle has participated in The Big Photo Show, the largest local photography exhibit in Glynn County, Georgia, which is sponsored by the Glynn Art Association. The show represents the best work of the Coastal Photographer's Guild membership. In 2011, Gayle was awarded an honorable mention ribbon for her photo, "New Orleans: Reconstructed," and in 2012 another honorable mention ribbon for a photo of her daughter entitled, "Beauty in the Rubble." In the spring of 2012, Gayle tied for first-runner up in the Downtown Georgia Photo Contest sponsored by the Georgia Historic Preservation Division, Department of Natural Resources. Her photograph, "Valdosta's Palace" was selected from out of 212 entries submitted by 94 other photographers.
Gayle is a member of the Glynn Art Association and the Coastal Photographer's Guild. This Army wife and mother of two prefers to photograph nature scenes and architectural structures, occasionally with a human subject.
