The third Thursday of every month, we meet from 7 to 9pm
at Glynn Visual Arts, 106 Island Drive, SSI. (see map below)
Our Last Meeting was June 21st
Professional photographer and co-founder of h2o, a multimedia production house in Brunwick, St. Simons’ native Ben Galland shared his insights on landscape and commercial photography. Galland’s photography is often found in such magazines as “Elegant Island Living” and in a variety of books on Coastal Georgia. Recently, Galland visited Sapelo Island over 18 months for his work in “Sapelo: People and Places on a Georgia Sea Island”.
Our May Meeting was 5/17/2018
Presentations were by Duke Smith & Lucy Albenze
Duke Smith says:
"Your Tripod: Don't Leave Home Without It!"
(and don't do what these guys are doing!)
Lucy Albenze of Creative Frameworks will show us how to present our photos in the best possible light using frames and matts.
Our April Meeting:
Jaclyn Luckstone: iPhone (and Smartphone) Tips and Tricks
Jaclyn Luckstone gave us Apps and Tips on how to get the most out of our iPhones or other smartphones.
Our March Meeting:
Josh Jalbert, photography professor at Savannah College of Art and Design, explored printing on unconventional materials.
Our February meeting had two very interesting presentations:
"Creating those Fantasy Images"
The January Meeting was "What are you into now?"
It included multiple presentations by guild members:
Michael Hanneld: "Scanner Photos"
Bob Kelterborn: "What's Old is New Again, Rebirth of the Polaroids"
Milt Schreiber: "Tiny Cameras"

The December Meeting was our Christmas Party
The November meeting featured a presentation on Travel Photography by guild member Jim Squires. Jim led the critique on the travel pics. The homework for the November meeting was to submit two of your travel photos, a day trip or a location half way around the world.
Submission requirements: Only digital files of photographs will be accepted and reviewed. Please prepare two files (resize to 1024 pixels on the longest side) and rename them as "First Name_ Last Name_Travel1" and "First Name_Last Name_Travel2").
Files will be projected at the meeting for critique and review. They may also be displayed on the CPG website unless the photographer notes otherwise.
